On Sunday 12th January 2020, Jassa spoke at TEDxChandigarh. His talk - #BothNotHalf: How Language Shapes Identity - will be online soon.
The event took place at Chandigarh’s Tagore Theatre. Students, locals, industrialists, CEOs, bureaucrats, and change-makers packed out the 800+ capacity venue, named after hyphenate artist Rabindranath Tagore.
“It went really well. It was overwhelming. I totally underestimated how much the ideas fuelling #BothNotHalf would resonate here in India but it’s obvious really; India is such a diverse country of regions and religions, it seemed to resonate with everyone. It was such a privilege to witness people having their own moments of realisation.” - Jassa
Jassa was invited to speak at TEDxChandigarh by curator Pritika Mehta (pictured below), recently chosen by TED to be a TEDx Ambassador.
Jassa’s talk will be released online in February and will be available to watch here.
TEDx rules mean that speakers cannot be paid. Jassa would like to thank his sponsor BritAsiaTV, without whom this talk would not have been possible.
