On Monday 15th March 2021, Jassa was in conversation with award winning journalist, writer and broadcaster, Kavita Puri.
First generation South Asians - who were British - gave up so much, and gave so much, to build a life here in the UK. Yet "how many generations do we have to be here before we belong?"

Superb talk from @kavpuri @OfficialJassa on the research for series Three Pounds in my Pocket. https://t.co/ovD0sk38kg
The virtual event, organised by the UK Punjab Heritage Association (UKPHA), explored Kavita Puri’s highly acclaimed BBC radio series - Three Pounds In My Pocket - exploring the lives of the pioneer generation who began to arrive in England from the Indian subcontinent in the 1950s with as little as £3.
Iconic duo @Kavipuri @OfficialJassa in convo. Kavita recorded stories of those who came from India because unlike Windrush we didn’t have that moment & it wasn’t in national consciousness. Thirst to know parents/grandparent's history. They gave up so much for us! Dad came with £3 pic.twitter.com/iMMZNWPqfE
